Changelog & roadmap

Where we are, where we're going.

ShipCut is in public beta. We ship often. Below: what's already in the product, and what's next on our list.

Current version · 0.11.0-beta

What we shipped

  1. 0.11.0-betaMay 2026

A new, more accessible plan: Lite

A lighter paid tier sitting between Free and Starter, at €7 / month: 10 Standard videos a month with no watermark, plus 1 Premium credit to try a from-scratch custom render. Up to 30-second videos; longer renders and more Premium stay on Starter and Pro. For makers who just want to ship a few clean videos a month without committing to a bigger plan. See it on pricing.

  2. 0.10.0-betaMay 2026

Add background music to your videos

Tick "add background music" when you create a video and we'll match one of ~50 hand-picked, royalty-free tracks to its mood — calm, uplifting, cinematic, energetic, playful, tech, corporate or acoustic — and mix it under the finished video, fading out cleanly at the end. Works on every plan, no credit, on both Standard and Premium. And it's editable after the fact — in a tweak you can swap the track for a different mood, add music to a silent video, or remove it entirely. Have a listen to the whole bank on the library.

  3. 0.9.6-betaMay 2026

Rate your video in one tap — and sharper product shots

Two things. First, instant feedback: on any video's page you can now rate the result with a single tap and leave an optional note — it tells us what's landing and what isn't, and tunes what gets generated next. Second, when a video features your product, it now uses a live, full-quality view of your actual page instead of whatever preview image we could find — crisper, and truer to what you actually built.

  4. 0.9.5-betaMay 2026

Premium custom generation lands on Starter

Starter now ships with 5 Premium credits / month on top of the 15 Standard videos — scenes written from scratch for your product, not picked from the library. URL-based renders only; free-form mode (prompt alone, no URL) stays a Pro perk. Existing Starter subscribers get the new pool right away, no action needed.

  5. 0.9.4-betaMay 2026

    Auto-repair when a render fails

Sometimes a Premium render fails on a small bug in the generated code. Instead of asking you to restart from scratch, the system now reads the error and patches it in place. Transparent — you'll just see the render take a few extra seconds. No extra credit charged.

  6. 0.9.3-betaMay 2026

    A real contact page

No more digging through Terms or Privacy to find an email. /contact now gathers both mailboxes (product and legal), a short form that lands straight in our inbox, and the operator legal block. We reply within two business days.

  7. 0.9.2-betaMay 2026

    Smarter ingest for app-style sites

Modern product pages often load their content in JavaScript — what arrives on first request is an empty shell. Generation now detects that and reads the hydrated page instead, so apps, dashboards and JS-heavy landing pages give a full brief just like static sites do.

  8. 0.9.1-betaMay 2026

Queue admission cap + beta limitations

When the render queue is fully booked, new submissions are refused with a clear "try again soon" message instead of joining a long wait. No credit is consumed by hitting the cap. Also added a "Known limitations" section on /faq — what ShipCut doesn't do yet, and why.

  9. 0.9.0-betaMay 2026

    Smarter site ingest

Generation now reads the full product surface, not just the home — pricing, docs, changelog and blog all feed the brief when they exist. Real prices land in pricing scenes, real changelog dates land in launch reveals, real doc section names land in workflow steps. The video gets concrete instead of generic.

  10. 0.8.0-betaMay 2026

    Delete videos, correction window

A real "Delete this video" button on every video — wipes the MP4, poster, every correction. Bulk "Delete all my videos" on /account. Corrections stay available for 30 days after the original submission; past that, the video stays watchable and downloadable but no new tweaks can be applied.

  11. 0.7.0-betaMay 2026

    Correction mode

Once a video is rendered, drop a short prompt to re-render with tweaks. Compare versions, revert to any previous one, finalize when you're happy. Free on Standard renders, 1 Premium credit on Premium.

  12. 0.6.0-betaMay 2026

    "Why ShipCut" — anti-AI-slop side-by-side

A dedicated /why page that sets a typical AI-slideshow generator output next to ours, point by point. Honest, factual, no name-calling.

  13. 0.5.0-betaMay 2026

    Free-form mode

Generate a Premium video from a prompt alone — no URL, no scraping. The system invents the brand, palette, storyboard. For fictional products, concept videos, ideas that don't have a landing page yet.

  14. 0.4.0-betaMay 2026

    Stripe billing + customer portal

Self-serve subscription, cancellation, plan switching, invoices. Magic-link sign-in stays single-tap.

  15. 0.3.0-betaMay 2026

    Maintenance mode

Soft mode pauses new generations only; hard mode 503s the whole site. Admin bypass via a signed cookie. Existing videos stay accessible during soft maintenance.

  16. 0.2.0-betaMay 2026

Pro plan with custom Premium generation

10 Premium credits / month. Each Premium render is composed from scratch for your product — bespoke layouts and motion. Standard library scenes still available, with no monthly cap on tweaks.

  17. 0.1.0-betaMay 2026

    Public component library

Every scene, background, accent, and theme that the Standard pipeline composes from — visible at /library before you generate anything.

  18. 0.0.1-betaApr 2026

    Public beta launch

3 free videos / month, Standard pipeline, public sharing on opt-in. Magic-link auth, private-by-default videos.

What's next

No dates promised — we ship when something's ready, not on a schedule.

  1. Planned

    Background music

Optional music track per video. Licensed library, ducked under any future voice-over. Toggle on /create — off by default.

  2. Planned

    Manual editor (Standard videos)

Beyond prompt-based corrections: a graphical editor where you reorder scenes, swap palettes, edit slot text directly. For Standard renders, where every piece is well-defined and editable.

  3. Planned

    Scaled-up render infrastructure

More compute and a dedicated render queue so videos finish in roughly half the time — and the wait stays predictable when traffic spikes.
